A 29-year-old Indonesian domestic helper, who said she missed her children back home terribly, threatened to kill her employer's child unless she was allowed to go home, a court heard yesterday.
On three occasions, Nurhasanah asked to be returned home. The first time, she did not have money to pay for the termination of her contract. On the next two occasions, her employer told her to wait for a replacement.
On Nov 10 last year, Nurhasanah grabbed a pair of 12-cm-long kitchen scissors and pressed them into the back of the eight-month-old baby boy in her charge.
During the incident, Nurhasanah told her employer in Bahasa Indonesia: "Send me home now, send me to the airport to buy ticket or I will kill this child."
